HDPE, or high density polyethylene, is a thermoplastic polymer used to make shampoo bottles, milk jugs, piping, cutting boards, snowboards and more. During the CNC machining of HDPE, a computer directs the movements of manufacturing equipment, removing raw material and shaping the part. CNC technology can control lathes, mills, routers, grinders and other machines. CNC machinery can perform three-dimensional cutting tasks using only a single set of prompts.
HDPE CNC machining offers numerous benefits. HDPE can be used to replace heavier materials. It can be easily melted and molded but remains rigid until exposed to extreme heat.
