Fathom is an experienced manufacturer that produces high-quality ultem® CNC machined parts for its customers. Whether your project is time-sensitive, requires high precision, or is highly complex or short project run related, our team can meet the requirements of your job. Ultem® CNC machining is just one of the multiple manufacturing technologies offered by Fathom. Contact us today for a quote.
Ultem® is a thermoplastic used to make seals, valves, medical instruments, missile components, electrical hardware, aircraft components and more. Ultem® CNC is perfect for applications that require thermal properties and excellent strength. During CNC machining of ultem®, a computer directs the machines to subtract material, shaping the part. CNC technology can control lathes, mills, routers, grinders and other machines. Using a single set of prompts, CNC machinery can perform three-dimensional cutting tasks.
Ultem® is a high-performance resin with favorable qualities. Ultem® has high strength, stiffness, heat and moisture resistance. Ultem® is often used for aerospace and electronic applications due to its dielectric strength and thermal properties.
ULTEM PEI has high strength, long-term heat resistance, and excellent rigidity. Polyetherimide has great dimensional stability, chemical resistance and flame resistance. It is often used for parts that require sterilization.
ULTEM 1000 has good electrical properties and dimensional stability, even in high heat environments. It has excellent chemical resistance and flame retardance. ULTEM 1000 is commonly used to make components for the aerospace, automotive and HVAC industries.
ULTEM 2300 is a 30% glass-filled polyetherimide. By adding glass, ULTEM has higher dimensional stability. Additionally, the glass adds increased rigidity and tensile strength. ULTEM 2300 is used for aircraft, electrical, automotive, and medical applications.
ULTEM 2100 and ULTEM 2200 are both glass-filled grades of ULTEM. The addition of glass adds tensile strength, stiffness, and dimensional stability. ULTEM 2100 is perfect for applications that require strength and rigidity at high temperatures. ULTEM 2300 is ideal for applications that call for dimensional stability and chemical resistance.
ULTEM 2400 is a 40% glass filled PEI. As a high-performance plastic, it possesses the same qualities as other grades of ULTEM but is particularly useful in medical applications where the component must be repeatedly sterilized.
