Fathom’s 4th Year on Inc. 5000
Continued Growth in Advanced Manufacturing Ranks Fathom on Inc. 5000 List of Fastest-Growing Private Companies in America for Fourth Consecutive Year—Announced During 3D Printing Expert’s Largest Facility Expansion to Date
Inc. Magazine recently ranked Fathom, an advanced manufacturer with an expertise in 3D printing, as NO. 1279 on its 35th annual Inc. 5000. The 2016 recognition marks Fathom’s 4th year in a row on the list of fastest-growing private companies. Fathom was also named by Inc. as one of the top 20 fastest growing manufacturing companies in the nation.
Fathom is currently undergoing its largest expansion to date, doubling the size of its production center at its headquarters in Oakland to accommodate its customers’ growing need for accelerated manufacturing services—from prototype fabrication to low volume to bridge-to-production capabilities.
“Our recent expansion allows us to build on our customers’ ever-increasing needs for design freedom and speed. This investment further develops our approach of augmenting conventional methods with advanced technologies and unique processes,” said Rich Stump, Co-Founder and Principal of Fathom. “We are continually driven to change the way products are designed and manufactured—ranking on the Inc. 5000 for the fourth year is both validating and encouraging.”
Fathom’s proven approach focuses on how a product should function rather than how it’s made, enabling companies to drive greater innovation while pushing the limits of manufacturing. The growing company of experts has attracted the attention of many Fortune 500 companies, Silicon Valley titans and award-winning newcomers—customers who also appear on this year’s Inc. Magazine list.
“At Fathom, we favor a front-loaded design approach that engages companies in many iterative cycles early on to increase knowledge and cut down assumptions,” said Michelle Mihevc, Fathom Co-Founder and Principal. “Mixing this methodology with the expertise of our team allows designers and engineers to create better products, faster and more efficiently. Each project serves as an opportunity to make the unmakeable and we’re very proud that our continued growth earns us a place on the Inc. 5000 list for another year.”
Earlier this year, Fathom announced a partnership with Israel-based Nano Dimension making it the first American company to offer the additive-based systems capable of 3D printing circuit boards.
