Why Fathom is at Design-2-Part New England
Design-2-Part New England brings engineers, buyers, and manufacturing teams together to compare suppliers, examine real parts, and work through active sourcing challenges in person. Fathom will be there to connect manufacturers across the Northeast with two specialized regional teams, Incodema by Fathom in Ithaca, New York, and Newcut by Fathom in Newark, New York.
Incodema specializes in rapid prototyping and production of small, complex formed sheet metal parts, bringing cutting, forming, custom tooling, welding, post machining, and finishing together under one roof. Newcut specializes in photochemical machining for complex flat metal parts, using a process that requires no hard tooling, accommodates design changes quickly, and produces clean, burr free features.
Together, the teams provide a more complete path from flat precision components to finished formed parts.
Why Attend and Why Meet Fathom
Stop by our booth if you want to talk through:
-
Small, Complex Sheet Metal Parts
Discuss components that require multiple bends, intricate features, custom tooling, or a combination of cutting, forming, machining, welding, and finishing.
-
Manufacturability questions before they become production issues
If your team is working with tight tolerances, complex geometry, material constraints, or evolving design requirements, we can help identify what may affect cost, lead time, quality, or repeatability before those issues show up later.
-
Fast Prototypes and Easier Design Changes
Learn how processes that do not require hard tooling can help teams test designs, make revisions, and move forward without committing too early to expensive production tooling.
-
Choosing the Right Process for the Part
Talk through whether your component is best suited for photochemical machining, laser cutting, waterjet cutting, stamping, precision forming, or a combination of processes.
-
Flat Parts With Intricate Features
Explore when photochemical machining may be the right fit for thin metal components, complex profiles, fine features, and clean edges without burrs.

Who Should Visit
This is a good conversation for teams that are looking for:
- A manufacturing partner for complex or tight-tolerance components
- Support moving from prototype to production
- Better manufacturability input before production begins
- More confidence in supplier communication, quality, and responsiveness
- A domestic manufacturing partner that can support multiple processes
- Help reducing sourcing friction, production risk, or supplier uncertainty
- Practical guidance on which manufacturing process is right for the part
Have a project you want to discuss in Marlborough?
If you are evaluating suppliers, trying to reduce risk, working through a prototype, or preparing for production, the Fathom team would be glad to meet with you at Design-2-Part New England.
