Mold Building
ICOMold by Fathom offers multiple options for different types of injection molds based on your estimated number of production cycles. Our injection molds are made exclusively with steel. Steel is the material of choice due to mold longevity, durability, repairability and the ability to injection mold complex parts.
In addition to single-cavity injection molding, we build multi-cavity tools, which enable you to produce multiple copies of the same part in a single shot, and family molds, which enable you to produce several types of similar parts (such as right and left sides or the top and bottom of a product) using a single tool. ICOMold by Fathom also does overmolding, insert molding and compression molding.
Rapid Tooling
Need tooling fast? Our rapid tooling service produces steel tooling quickly, with delivery of sample parts in as little as 15 days. Not aluminum tooling, which has a limited life, but hardened steel tooling that is perfect for bridge and low-volume production of parts.
Injection Molding
ICOMold by Fathom offers nearly 600 varieties of plastic for injection molding including all types of thermoplastics and many varieties of specialty plastic materials. Our engineers will help you to select the best material that meets your performance and cost requirements.
CNC Machining
ICOMold by Fathom can quickly produce complex plastic or metal CNC production and prototype parts within days.
Urethane Casting
ICOMold by Fathom’s urethane casting process can produce parts that are rigid to flexible (rubber-like), colored or transparent. The silicone molds provide excellent surface finish detail and can accurately mimic production colors and textures.

Engineer and Project Management Access
Every Step of the Way
Fathom will review your quote and alert you of any potential issues that need to be acknowledged and discussed, and/or problem areas that need to be redesigned, like a necessary draft angle for ejection, or a thick wall that may cause a sink mark.
We will advise you of these situations and always make sure you are in agreement with changing your model. There may be cases where the situation is not critical to you and you approve for us to proceed with your model as-is, but at least we will have brought it to your attention. You are always in control!
