Mihevc Named Influential Woman
Congratulations to Fathom Co-Founder and Principal Michelle Mihevc for being honored by the San Francisco Business Times as one of the Bay Areas 2016 Most Influential Women in Business!
The annual list includes 150 women business leaders from a variety of industries, ranging from real estate and law to health care and manufacturing.
Senior Editor Emily Fancher writes, These women work in diverse fields, but all share a passion for what they do. That passion is a shared feeling all throughout Fathom.
Mihevc told interviewers earlier this year, In everyone we are looking to hire, the biggest criteria is that they are passionate about what we do and passionate about what our customers are doing.
Check out excerpts of the Q&A with San Francisco Business Times below.
San Francisco Business Times—What is your proudest professional accomplishment? Michelle Mihevc—Building an innovative company as a female leader in the traditionally male-dominated manufacturing industry.
SFBT—Who is your best business mentor? MM—My mother taught me to take responsibility for my actions and to treat others how I would like to be treated. My late father taught me to go after what I want and that anything is possible.
SFBT—How are you involved with the community, aside from being a business leader? MM—Fathom has partnered with the e-NABLE community—engineering and 3D printing prosthetic arms for children in need (pictured below, Mihevc coordinated Fathom’s partnership with e-NABLE to bring 5-year-old Isabella a prosthetic arm in her signature pink). We also promote interest in STEM among Bay Area youth through tours of our production centers with local educational groups.
SFBT—What is your best advice for helping women advance in any field of business? MM—Women should believe in themselves and have the courage to embrace the fact that they have full control over their lives.
SFBT—What is a surprising fact about you? MM—I met my husband at the Atlanta airport on a layover totally by chance. We now live in Danville with our three beautiful and energetic daughters who inspire me (and challenge me) every day.
